About Us

Little River Jewelers is located in eastern North Carolina just outside Raleigh. The country setting of the Wake Forest, Rolesville, Zebulon area we live in provides a wonderful setting for inspiration and creativity. With a short drive in any direction the area provides a wide range of activities to fit any life style. Big city life to an ocean swim or a romantic mountain getaway is all within reach.

All of our jewelry designs have a few things in common. Our chainmaille jewelry is made from the highest quality rings available. It starts with the finest wire that's hand coiled for consistent circles and thickness. Each ring is hand cut with a precision saw leaving a kerf thinner than a human hair. They're tumble polished for several hours and then individually inspected for defects before use. This method produces a high quality, highly lustrous ring with an almost seamless appearance.

Our beaded jewelry starts with the use of a strong nylon coated stranded wire. We use wire guards for long life and you'll never see an exposed crimp. Quality beads made from glass, crystal, precious and semi-precious gems and stones, pearls as well as a variety of metals and other materials are chosen not only their beauty but also for durability.

We feel all these methods and techniques produce a quality piece of jewelry that's functional, practical, strong, long lasting and of course, beautiful.

Our mission is simple. To provide custom handcrafted jewelry from quality components and materials to our customers at reasonable prices. We take great pride in our company, our commitment to customer service and in the products we make and sell. Try a piece from Little River Jewelers and see for yourself.

What is Vermeil?

Vermeil (vûr'məy), is a combination of sterling silver, gold, and other precious metals. A typical example is sterling silver coated with 14k gold. To be considered vermeil, the gold must be at least 10k and be at least 1.5 micrometres thick.

What is 14k Gold-Filled or 14/20 GF?

"Gold-Filled" metal is made by permanently bonding a layer of 14k gold to an alloy or base metal core with heat and pressure. It contains 100 times the amount of 14k gold as gold plated alloys. In order to carry the label "Gold-Filled", it must be at least 1/20th by weight, 14k gold. The result is the look and feel of pure gold at a fraction of the price!

What is Argentium Sterling Silver?

Argentium Sterling Silver is a modern sterling silver. Traditional sterling silver alloy contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. By replacing some of the copper with a rare metallic element called germanium, Argentium Sterling Silver is produced. What does this mean to you? While many significant properties are affected, you'll benefit from a harder silver alloy with higher tarnish resistance. Argentium Silver is patented and trademarked by Argentium Silver Company, UK.

Will I get exactly what's pictured on your website?

As with any jewelry using natural stones, gems or minerals slight differences in shape, size and color are common. We make every effort to keep each design as close to uniform as possible but each piece is truly unique. All pictures are updated as often as possible to ensure you get what you see.

Why do your prices change every few weeks?

Well some do and some don't. Numerous factors contribute to the final cost of any product we make and sell. The largest factor in our case is the cost of materials. Items are priced based on the cost of the materials we used to make them at that time. Unfortunately when the price of fuel, gold and silver fluctuates, so do our prices. We do however make every effort to keep costs down without sacrificing the quality of our products.
